The Court notes that the Settlement Agreement and Mutual Release must still be executed by the parties,
and further notes that it is provided therein that within five (5) business days of the parties’ execution of the
document, Plaintiff shall file a Notice of Dismissal With Prejudice.

What does mutal release refer to in this context?

I can only give you my speculation based on the sparse facts we have. But most likely... (sorry, not at this place).
As I said, it is just fun to solve that puzzle. And I was not so bad in it until now. :)

Would also like to know. I assume it means that if both parties agree, the terms of the settlement will be made public. I can't imagine that will happen though as for one of the two parties the outcome will look negative for them, if I'm not mistaken.

It IS good for XenForo (the software). No matter what it is! Everything is better compared to the state it was during the last year.

It may be bad or good for XenForo (the business).

Definition of "Mutual Release"

A Mutual Release is a General Release tailored for use when both parties claim that each other is to blame for the injuries or damages that they have suffered. Since both parties are giving up all known and unknown claims against the other party, care should be taken to ensure that the parties are fully aware of their rights. Normally both parties simply release the other from future liability. However, if one party is more at fault they can be asked to give extra consideration (compensation).

I'm sure a lot of people are feeling this. It's a natural psychological reaction to a stress event ending.
The stress simply throws up negative feelings, a kind of fatigue reaction.
It's a well known aftermath of taking exams for example which has no relation to the actual result when it comes.

It could go the other way too.. It could have been found the code was of what IB claimed and xenForo Ltd purchased the rights to that code for x amount of money to continue using it in xF. It could be a set amount or like a record label where IB receives X amount of each xF sold.
 
This is how I look at it. If this agreement suited XenForo, then Kier would be rushing to post about it, because it's great news.

That's not happened.

They can't and won't post within the 5 day window already mentioned. So no. Even if it was amazing news, we'd hear nothing until the 5 days is over.

Here's some a positive speculation for you though:
Perhaps IB rushed out the debacle known as vB 5 Connect, hoping to get a few hundred sales before Xenforo comes out the victor of bogus lawsuit. IB, knowing the details of their loss, rushed vB 5 out because they know any prospective customers will favor Xenforo now that the lawsuit has been settled in Xenforo's favor. A couple thousand dollars before the horrid crash, as it were... Hmmm - I'd drink to this one.
