Some people have this fantasy that 1.2 will be released to coincide with ForumCon and others think that vB5 will look a lot like XenForo.

Now a XenForo look alike would be interesting. Wonder if it would also be a work alike?

I wouldn't rate it as high as an "assumption" more a wild ass guess, fun speculation afforded by the cloak of invisibility of the participants. The vB announcement today will be a piece in the puzzle, whether it offers any information on the vB/XF lawsuit.

It's probably high traffic from something else... I mean how many people would really be downloading a PDF that wasn't announced as being available yet? Plus a PDF is a static file... a web server shouldn't be choking on serving it unless maybe it was thousands of people every second requesting it.
