I strongly feel luck is not needed. This is pretty open and shut to me. Hopefully, the judge finds it to be that way, too.
On the contrary, if this motion gets granted, the case may well go on for another year or more.Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think much of anything is expected today.

Dear Kim, couldn't you send good ol' home-made scrumptious breakfast for him. We all know it would help with our cause.Urgh!
Let's hope the judge had a great breakfast and is in a good mood for seeing the truth.

Just keep bein' a negative Nancy, Peggy! The fact that he's let this case go one this long tells me that luck just may be needed.
I thought if it gets granted, the trial date is set for November, or is that just a first hearing or something? On the contrary, if this motion gets granted, the case may well go on for another year or more.

October 17th is the date of the hearing for Plaintiff's motion for leave to amend the complaint (to add new claims and new defendants)
November 7th is the date of the hearing for Defendants' motion for summary judgement.
November 29th is the date of the trial as currently scheduled.
Sorry, I got mixed up - granting the motion today will mean IB can add more, frankly, rubbish claims & waste even more time. - i.e. we start all over again. The judge has all of the pretrial motions and such in his possession now.
If he grants the motion today, would that mean he's unlikely to grant the summary judgement on 7 Nov?
If he rejects the motion today, it would allow the possibility of granting the summary judgement on 7 Nov?
Granting the motion today, most likely leads to trial on 29 Nov.
Rejecting the motion and the summary judgement leads to trial.
