A PI sounds like the US equivalent of an application for summary judgement e.g. you cancel a cheque paid out for goods or services and the plaintiff applies for summary judgement because to all intents and purposes there is no defence against cancelling a cheque.

I believe in the UK, judgement for such an application would be made on a point of law e.g. it is illegal to cancel a cheque because the law states that a cheque is as good as cash money which is a promise to pay the bearer. In my (limited) experience if the point of law is sound and backed up by evidence, the judge will refuse to hear the defence and find in favour of the plaintiff. Would the same apply here?

If my understanding of a PI is correct it seems a most extraordinary and foolhardy move in this case.

Why is vB4 buggy ?
Besides the obvious ... (it is spaghetti coding to try to bring new life to vB3) ..

Despite vB4 being a major update to vB3.x series.
Thanks IB for making me pay for untested alpha software (vB 4 Gold).
 
I already looked at my vB3 code and the xenforo 1 code.
Even to my eyes, I can see the xenforo is entirely different than vB4.

Nevermind the impossible formulas:

This is what I feel were the differences between vB4 and xenforo.

The atmosphere of supporting and helping each other is alive and well here. The addons keep pouring in. Is there some legal risk xenforo is facing ? Maybe. But is it reasonable to want to use crappy vB4 run by a corporation with no vision who has to deal with outdated code and really needs to entirely re-write vB4 to make it worthwhile ? Umm... Hell no.

To create vB4 there were two choices for vBulletin:
(1) Continue much of the core of vB3.5 and addon some code to make vB4 a more modern forum package or
(2) Spend the big bucks and totally re-write vBulletin.
Mike and Kier wanted option (2), IB chose option(1).
Welcome to xenforo, option (2), an entirely new forum.
If the catastrophic release of vB4 didn't convince you who was right, I don't think you'll ever know where to put your money.

Best of Luck. I'd sell you my vB4 licence, but I'm not that cruel.

I started to draw a use case diagram, but then I thought about Agile project management and stopped.

Of course, there is nothing fundamentally wrong with Agile, provided it is implemented properly. A common misconception among poor project managers is that Agile gives an excuse for not having a plan at all. There's another word that describes that state: 'chaos'.

When I did my A2 ICT last year (started AS a year early), my teacher tried to talk about Agile project management. It left a bad taste. Agile, when used correctly, is VERY useful. A roadmap doesn't have to be volatile in Agile, it just has be agile.
