That’s semi intentional but I appreciate why it might be unexpected especially if you’ve explicitly asked for them to be included. We’ll look at changes here.
As a workaround for now, you can probably use exec commands in build.json to manually copy them in.
Just to be clear the paths are relative to the add on root directory IIRC and you’d be looking to place them relative to the _build directory (a temporary directory where the built files are staged).
It’s quite possibly still stripping them out. I guess the order of the steps is not quite what I remembered. We’ll take a look and try to sort it for the next release.
So I tracked it down, through four levels of filtering and some other file name handling bugs along the way. And now you can include .htaccess files in your releases.
