Serious bug, when a user post a direct link with large file size, will trigger an error and message can't be posted.
Try this link on your forum: http://85.25.43.29/Getintopc.com/en_windows_8_1_pro_vl_x64_dvd_2971948.iso

Same error with me.. you get a php limit error right?

Workaround for now is to specify a title for the link, e.g:
[URL='http://85.25.43.29/Getintopc.com/en_windows_8_1_pro_vl_x64_dvd_2971948.iso']This is a link[/URL]

(Easiest way to do this is write some text, highlight it, then click the link button on the editor and paste the link)

Thank you for putting that out there.

It's so easy to just say "rewrite from scratch, blah blah blah".... Yet, amazingly, we don't see all of these newly re-written add-ons being released left and right.

If people feel so strongly about one needing to be rewrote, by all means, get to work.

There are some paid add-ons available which are written with such problems in mind and can handle large files without titles automatically.

It is just a matter of choice.

How about making a HEAD request first to get the content type... if the content type returned is 'text/html' then a get request will be made to fetch the title. Sorry if this has already been suggested, I haven't read all the posts...

That change has already been coded actually. Along with some other improvements.
