Anyone upgrade to php 8.5 yet?

8.5 is out. anyone upgrade their 2.3.7 install to php 8.5?

PHP 8.5 is pretty bleeding edge and released a few days ago, usually it takes some weeks to find the new bugs and holes in a major version, i'd recommend waiting a few months to use it in production.

Given XenForo's last bug fix update was last July, almost 5 months ago, I'm pretty sure core XF is not yet compatible with PHP 8.5.
They even only recommend 8.3 for full support.

Yep. IIRC some vendor dependencies are not fully compatible with 8.4+ and can't be upgraded as that would break compatibility with 7.2.
Therefore I'd stick with 8.3 for now, this PHP version is still fully supported and will receive security files until december 2027.

I've been running 8.4.x in production without issue for a year ish. very stable, no issues logging.

I'm running 8.5 since the first stable and have no issues at all. (xenforo 2.3.7 and now 2.3.8)

8.4 runs without problems (running it for months on my big board) but I would wait with 8.5.

Ran into some problems with 8.5 on my staging board.

Running PHP 8.5.2 for a weak without issue now.

I just tested PHP 8.5.2 on the live forum, and it really works fine with XenForo 2.3.8; no error was logged in XenForo admin or the Nginx error log.

Same here. We upgraded to PHP 8.5.2, and both our XF instances run just fine, including add-ons.

I ran a test and lost all my style sheets.
I had to rebuild my styles. (just re-saved a .less file)
otherwise, so far so good.

Is there really a point to switching between those versions? You aren't gaining anything noticeable, so why do it?
