Any sort of roadmap for Xenforo 2.3 ?

Their company, their choice; you have choices too. (y)

Certainly, each individual among us possesses the right to make personal choices.

Customer complaints or opinions regarding the product are advantageous.

The creators of the product can listen and make adjustments if necessary.

We should limit our address to customers in such a way. Such an attitude lacks professionalism and could hinder our growth.

vBulletin are awesome with the updates now.
I expect version 5.7.6 at the end of this month. Then my forum that is over there gets upgraded as im on vbcloud.

Your message to me sounds like an advertisement...
The majority of vBulletin users prefer versions 3 and 4.
Most popular version 4.2.5

This version is not yet available for sale.
Version 5 was released 10 years ago, right?
In 10 years, only a small percentage of forums have transitioned to the 5th version, correct?
They've released it as a candidate version to iron out any bugs. It won't be released to the public until September.
Read my point where i suggested to @Chris D that he does the same thing releases the version as a candidate one and have everyone bug check it.

XF has been doing that from the start.

First beta, then RC.

Man, that's like looking through a time tunnel at the moment of the Big Bang.

At that time, I was a member of another forum, I'd read about the legal spat between vB and the developers and didn't even have a desire to be a moderator, let alone be running my own forum. Gotta admit, it feels epic to be running my own one now.

I am on a local site that has remained resolutely on VB 3.8 due to integration with the rest of the site that the owner does not feel like messing with. I nudged him about XF years ago but so far he's been doing his own improvements and fixes to the old VB instead of upgrading or migrating.

yeah i get that mate.

But as i got a notification from my own host that one of my URL's is about to expire i'm not about to let it because it's important to me. It also lets me know that hey i have a forum on there so i have to renew it.
Then i have to renew my license for here for the forum that i am mainly using on here in September.
Because if i don't then i can't get any support for my forum both on the forum and via a ticket and can't upgrade it.

It's all about priorities here mate.

You renew your license so that you can go and get some help on here for things that happen that other members on your forum have picked up on.

The point that people here have is there's nothing stopping you paying for renewal on the day you want to use paid features such as open a ticket, or grab an update. You can delay renewal to the date you actually need it, in order to optimize your costs.

Imagine today you have a 2 hour shift today, and 1 espresso gives you 3 hours of wakefulness. You work from home and your shift starts at 10 am. You're ready at 9 am and drink your espresso and do nothing until 10 am. You work your shift until 12 pm and the espresso wears off.
You actually need to work overtime, an hour extra so now you need to drink a second espresso.

Now, if you had just waited until you really needed the espresso at the start of your shift, it would last you through the shift, and the unexpected overtime.

So the morale of the story is don't spend money until you really need to (don't have your espresso before you actually need it).

Point from me is that you have members to worry about as well as your forum. It's about time you took responsibility for your own forum.
You will have people complain about certain bugs that keep appearing to all sorts of stuff. Stuff that you need help with and can't get because you couldn't care less about the forum as you have a grudge with this place.
In that case you need to actually do some work on yourself. Because if you have a grudge with the staff here about the software they use because it's not up to the standard where you'd like it to be then really you should not be owning a forum license from them.
I know that both @Brogan and i don't see eye to eye here but look just because he happens to be a mod on here it doesn't mean that xenforo's a :poop: software. It means that i sometimes have to learn to shut up and not make comments about stuff.

This is very familiar to me. I am the owner of a forum that is 20 years old. For 19 years, the forum was running on Vbulletin 3. That's a very long time. Last year, I switched to Xenforo and my only regret is not doing it much earlier :( I was able to replace all the custom software I had with Xenforo plugins, both paid and even free ones.
Forums are dying. And the lack of basic features, such as the ability to paste images from the clipboard, only accelerates the demise of the website.

2.3 won’t break a massive number of addons, is that correct ?

And should be relatively easy to upgrade, correct ?

It’s the 3.x series that WILL have those issues, correct ?
