Jaxel updated [8wayRun.Com] XenRio (Streams) PRO with a new update entry:

Version 1.1.4 CHANGELOG

  • Added version checking to javascript calls to eliminate errors related to outdated cached javascript files.
  • Greatly expanded YouTube support as a streaming service. Please be aware of several caveats first.
    • YouTube's API requires an API key. You can get one here. Make sure the YouTube Data API is enabled, and get yourself a server API key. If you use XenMedio, you may use the same key you use...

Hi Jaxel,

Thanks for updating this to include Youtube streaming as a supported feature. When you have the chance, would you consider the question I asked about as an inclusion in future updates for XenRio?

Any live stream I've seen on that website is just a youtube embed... and youtube is supported.
Hi Jaxel,

on both sites there are live broadcastings of actual football games. Comes in handy, when you are far from home and your Pay-TV-Setup Box. Are those really youtube embeddings (live broadcasts?). Or in other words - could you run a quick test wether those streams work with your addon or not?

That would not be possible. That website is not a streaming website... its just a directory.

i bought your mod, but when i go to download it, it says order id wrong or something like that, so i basically just paid to get nothing

Any way I can force the Twitch Chat embed to be in Dark mode by default? Light mode looks iffy on my dark website..

One of my users submitted the following channel:
Code:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfOb2VD6-BI

After the regex replacement it's presented in the channels queue as:
Code:
http://gaming.youtube.com/v/YfOb2VD6-BI

When I try to approve it I get the following error message:

No filter selected.: missingRequiredParameter

Also, it would be good to support the shortened URL often used for sharing, e.g.:
Code:
https://youtu.be/YfOb2VD6-BI

Of course it doesnt work... that URL is not a channel. Its a specific video; and XenRio monitors CHANNELS, not videos.

The CHANNEL for that video would be submitted as:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyYtAqykjowQUAF8l6ubr5A

I will add an error check in the next version that converts a video URL to fetch the channel.

The error checking would be appreciated, because I had assumed that if the URL submission were allowed, then it was a "valid" channel.

When you visit the submitted (non-channel) URL, it shows the channel being "offline" which further suggested (to me) that it was still a valid channel URL.

Suggestion: include a list of supported (and active) services on the submission form, similar to the xenForo embed media popup:

media-popup.webp

This way users will know which services are supported, as it's not publicised anywhere else.

@Jaxel as per your suggestion, the user submitted:
Code:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyYtAqykjowQUAF8l6ubr5A

The channel URL appeared in the queue as:
Code:
http://gaming.youtube.com/v/UCyYtAqykjowQUAF8l6ubr5A

I attempt to approve, and received same error as previous:

No filter selected.: missingRequiredParameter

What might be causing this?

To add to the above: When I attempt to approve the user-submitted URL, I get the following server error logged :
Code:
ErrorException: Undefined offset: 1 - library/EWRrio/Services/YouTube.php:37

Interestingly, if *I* submit the same URL then it goes through OK, noting that my permissions allow me to bypass moderation.

Jaxel updated [8wayRun.Com] XenRio (Streams) PRO with a new update entry:

Version 1.1.5 CHANGELOG

Another update for YouTube Data API changes.
  • The EWRrio_Channel template has been replaced with EWRrio_Stream. The new stream page better handles secondary data, which is required for some services, such as YouTube and uStream.
  • When viewing a channel page (rather than a stream page), if the last channel scrape was over 28 days ago, it will rescrape the channel.
  • The URLs and handling of "Popout" pages has been restructured to be more in line with the URL changes implemented in...

Going deep into the YouTube Data API... man this API sucks. It does in fact expose what game the channel is playing through the Freebase TopicID system. The problem is its super inaccurate.

Channel is playing "Super Smash Bros for 3DS/WiiU". However, when I ping the server, it says the channel is playing "Mario Maker". Even more amazing, using the reference API explorer, it says the channel is playing "Silent Hill 2". Never once has it returned the correct results.

So I'm just not going to bother with it.

Does the update for 1.1.5 address the issue I encountered? It wasn't obvious to me from reading the change log.
