Ahh... Yeah that is crazy... It's annoying in Xenforo because the scroll bar doesn't show when changing a thread prefix. The newer systems did away with the scroll bar - crazy, eh? It's still there 1/2 ass.....sometimes, but the idea is to use multi-touch (the trackpad) to do it.
It starts out stock in reverse of what you might think - use two fingers on the trackpad and swipe up and the page goes down. If you want it set the other way, go to system prefs - trackpad - scroll and zoom.
I'll use the maxmenus for 'Start' menu on Macbook. Hey you should at least get a cheap Mac man I think it will be worth it and you should just up the price of some addons to afford it. :yes:What restrictions?
Don't believe everything you read. Judge it for yourself.
Metro isn't exactly forced on you.
Yep, when you log in you're in Metro. But, then all you need to do is click "Desktop" to be taken to your normal Desktop.
You hover your mouse in the corner where the Start button used to be and clicking that takes you back to Metro (i.e. the Start screen).
So that is a pretty big changed forced on you, but, think about it. How much time do you spend in the Start menu? How do you use it?
Whenever I need to launch something that isn't on my desktop, I go to the Start screen, type its name and it pops up instantly.
I would use Metro more on a touch screen device. Some of the Metro based apps and games available give a good tablet experience, but I have to say I don't use them while using the laptop traditionally. I probably would if it was a tablet or had a touch screen.
So yeah, it's not all that bad. Try it.
That being said, I do want a Mac. I'm just poor![]()

Yeah I downloaded VLC last night because I couldn't play wmv and flv files. In no particular order and just for Mac in general I like:
1Password
Things
Caffeine
Aperture
Photoshop
MS Office (only good thing about MS IMO)
Cyberduck (trying Transmit now, let's see which one I like more)
VLC
iTweaX (to get rid of the annoying Lion effects and other nonsense, unfortunately still not able to remove that stupid elastic scrolling effect in Safari)
GrandTotal
SABnzbd
Firefox
ClamXav
Safari & mail (only with the classic features set)
Alarm Clock (by Robbie Hanson)
Fetch.I don't use too many local tools these days - but I like....
Fetch (ftp)
BBedit (text editor)
and Photoshop Elements for basic web and other graphics
Well tried and compared them. I prefer Cyberduck's UI overall although Transmit has some nice features. However apart from Transmit having tabs there isn't that much difference except Cyberduck is free. No reason to change.Cyberduck (trying Transmit now, let's see which one I like more)
When I look up Cyberduck and Transmit in the App store they both are Paid apps.Well tried and compared them. I prefer Cyberduck's UI overall although Transmit has some nice features. Cyberduck is free on their site yet paid on the app store, even their FAQ says it's free. Not sure what's going on there. When I look up Cyberduck and Transmit in the App store they both our Paid apps.
Although I asked for paid apps, I can't buy them now, I'm looking for free apps.
