[XFA] Members Map

[XFA] Members Map [Paid] 1.5.3

No permission to buy (€8.00)
Hi, I have used a different user map until now, but I have 5 pages of server errors. There are about 400 members on the forum, and not all enter their location, but many do. So I'm tempted to use your addon.

To use your addon, can I just copy/paste the APIs I created for the other one?

And can I just disable the other one, delete the error log and refresh the users list?

Thank you!

Hi
You cant use anorher API with my addon.
I dont know other addon but if you disable other addon and install our it should work
Regards

Merci Fred!

I'm using Crispin's addon, but it looks like he has lost interest in maintaining it.

Could I also ask you about this, someone had issues with server errors:

it was the add-on [XFA] Members Map. It was configured to make calls to the Google Geolocation IP API... for members who had no location entered, it was timing out making that API call. Turning off that feature fixed my problem.

Merci encore,

André

Bien sur, MAIS:

1- Je me suis enregistre, all good.
2- Je me suis logge: all good.
3- J'ai achete le addon (Members Map): all good.
4- MAIS quand j'ai clique sur Licenses apres l'achat, je tombe sur une page d'ERROR. (A)
5- En PLUS, cela me debranche automatiquement du site. (B)
Merci.
8- Merci!

Yes, I would. BUT:

1- I signed up, all good.
2- I logged in: all good.
3- I purchased the addon: all good.
4- But when I click on Licenses after the purchase, I get an ERROR page. PLUS, I'm automatically logged out. And then I can't login.
5- My cookies ARE enabled. I paid for the addon already. Now I'm locked out of your site.
6- Therefore I cannot even start a support thread on your forum.
7- Can you fix this, please?
8- Thank you!

Yeah just FYI for all you XFA guys, whenever I use your site I seem to get constantly logged out as well, like when opening up your site on multiple tabs. Something is really weird with your site

I use whatever the site directs me to. If the issue is that you have links that point to www or non-www, or http and others to https, then you need to evaluate your rewrite rules so that no matter what the link is it adds www if it's not there and converts http to https. If memory serves me correctly, that's what was happening...it's simple to correct that so that people don't get logged out when they click a link that might be missing the www or gos to http instead of https

The site URL may have had an issue, I flagged it to them and they said they'd fix it.

All my issues have been addressed with their addon, I simply uninstalled Crispin's addon (Unmaintained) and this one is working like a charm! Thanks for great support, Fred!

Cheers,

Andre

I'm considering moving to this addon since it's a) maintained, and b) an XF2 version is planned. Quick questions:
  1. Is the user location information stored in a separate table or added to an existing XF user table?
  2. Is the location data stored as GEOMETRY in a POINT table field?

Hi
1. Yes data are stored in separate table
2. Latitude and longitude are 2 separate fields in table
Thanks for the fast reply! I use the member location information for other functionality on my site outside of the forum, which involves spacial distance SQL queries on geometry. I guess I can convert the LNG/LAT to a POINT type in the query but I was hoping to take advantage of SPATIAL indices on POINT fields to make the queries faster.

I think you can convert lat/lng with Point class from mysql to do what you want
I need lat/lng in order to display marker in google map.

Well it’s easy to extract a lat/long from point geometry data and distance queries are a lot faster using a point field, especially if the users dB version supports spacial indices on innodb. just a suggestion.

I think I’ll take advantage of your Xmas special and try it out, maybe store the point data myself with a cron.

No problem
Have fun and merry christmas

Had a problem reported from a member and I could duplicate it. He's trying to set his location as either Cruz Bay St. John or US Virgin Islands but for either entry it states "this country doesn't match with our country database"?
