What does happening to media who have been published and lost on voting, they are automatically deleted? As i want only the voted image to remain on the album.

You can move them like any media.

Submissions: 21 days
Voting: 7 days
I don't use the first/last day of month setting. I like the 21 days to enter and 7 to vote and a couple days breathing room until next contest (also allows discussion of the next contest).
You can also adjust that each month, so if you only want 3 days voting just change it.
You can try first/last day if you want but I found with timezones and cron it was not exact so switched.

It's not manual it's automatic. Yes there is a limit.
