1. Has not the CEO has a does forI’ll be out of the forum game soon. But I wonder why Kier isn’t more active. I’m not trying to start anything , but why is the CEO of the company being so quite. Kier prove me wrong. Prove you’re working on 3,0. Prove you still exist lol. Let’s see a beta of 3 or something.
I don’t think it is unfair really. A lot of what brought people here was the excitement generated by Kier, the interaction from his videos and the engagement the development team had.1. Has not the CEO has a does for
2. Don't think your calling him out is going to bait a response.
We have 2.3 + 130 add-ons and it is slow as hell. I would recommend you to wait for 2.4.What do you think? Is it worth waiting for 2.4, or should I update to the current 2.3 first? (I'm currently running 2.2 from 2021)
Is this a common issue with 2.3 being slow or may there be other reasons, like maybe one of the 130 add ons?We have 2.3 + 130 add-ons and it is slow as hell.
Is there still no release date?
I would not complain too hard: Duke Nukem Forever was announced in 1997 and released in 2011, so in comparison 2.4 has plenty of time left. The first announcement was made over half a year ago. Back then, it was said that version 2.4 would be coming soon...
Well, read the thread that you are posting to.
We are currently targeting a release between Q4 2024 and Q1 2025.
Of course it is one of the reasons but if only XenForo had some basic features so that we wouldn't have to install 130 add-ons.like maybe one of the 130 add ons?
But doesn’t it have basic features? Isn’t one of the things people complain about is its basicness? Other people like that so less basic stuff is 3rd party.but if only XenForo had some basic features

While I absolutely agree that there are a lot of even basic features to be desired in XF that should rather be in the core than having to added via add ons I am pretty sure that 2.4 won't solve that. Plus over time I got the impression that most XF installs seem to run with few if any add ons at all (judging from the download numbers of popular add ons and the surprisingly low number of only 500 installs of XF add on notifier). So, while I feel your pain, I am quite sure one does not "have to" install 130 add ons to run XenForo.Of course it is one of the reasons but if only XenForo had some basic features so that we wouldn't have to install 130 add-ons.
I am not sure if a discussion like this leads anywhere (as it did not do in the past) but personally I'd rate another function way way higher: An included backup functionality for XF. If it would be a proper one: even better. Atm the only add on I am aware of for that is from 8wayrun and it does not work with more recent versions of 2.2 any more (but does with 2.3). I would bet that a huge amount of XF installations does not have a regular backup and it is a shame, that XF lacks this functionality. The most important features that I consider that Xenforo should bring in core and that are only possible to have in Addons are the features of the following addons:
Nope. It's not the job of a (web) application to provide backup funcationality and quite frankly, a PHP web app running on a shared server as a normal user account can't properly do that anyway.it is a shame, that XF lacks this functionality.
It does for XF Cloud that I'm on and is a newish feature in the ACP. Doesn't say how it's implemented, but I think it's very useful.I can just imagine the ****storm if XF had a backup function and the backup was corrupt resulting in a loss of content or the site.
No thanks.
