Hello, for a long time interested in XenForo
and have some questions
XenForo Joomla 3.0 and Joomla 2.5 or works?
Was someone else asking about that last week.

Why not just have a Paypal payment system?
Because a lot of people hate Paypal or refuse to use it.
There's a new cart addon arriving any day with Paypal + Google checkout (poss amazonpayments).

Can we provide a private developer?
Yes your developer can work as part of the community here. You can also work with amny good developers already here. Some are free addons some paid. All are right here see
Resources on navbar at top.
XenForo what to expect in the future? When the new version?
XF core development has stopped since about June last year because of a big court case. That ios expected to finish by March 2013. The XF side is expected to win it as the other company has not brought any solid evidence to back their case. Ir seem sto to an "annoyance" case aimed to slow XF down.
It has succeeded in doing that sadly.
Statements from the XF development team suggest their aim is to get back to work on XF when the case finishes. They have been very preoccupied and feel unable to talk about the future.
As there is no 100% definite statement on that because court cases can go on longer than expected, some XF users feel more cautious than others.
Many of us feel that XF is even now, after 6 months complete stop, still a long way ahead of any other forum software. It will be up ahead for at least another year.
But I personally think it will be more like 2-3 months before we get a new XF.
There is not a lot that needs to be done to it to create an upgrade, that is in terms of being a powerful, sleek forum for use on laptops and desktops.
Plans mentioned by the XF development team for the next upgrade are to publish the Resource Manager (RM) you can see working on the Resources tab, top navbar. It won't be free.
Secondly mobile adaptation. There are already some themes like Responsive for this but it was discussed by XF development for the next stage.
However as with all software you buy it as it is now, what you see here (core and addons section), and examples of customised sites by members.
Buying software on ANY pland for the future is not wise. Plans often change, or take longer than expected.
If XF suits you as it is now, buy it.
If not, observe and wait.
