i wonder why everyone's going gaga over the tagging system.... is it that it became a part of core....or? i have been using the add-on which does a lot more for quite a long time now..

or have i misssed something? Does xf's implentation is way better?

Tagging is a new feature in version 1.2.

If an add-on still provides more functionality then you can disable the default functionality via permissions.
