i wonder why its called xenForo
is there a story behind?
hehehe you know this is what vb4 could of been
EDIT: Oh wait, that's Fora. Nevermind.
My first thought on "Xen" was zen?
This was just with 2 ex-vBulletin developers. Imagine if Kier, Mike, Freddie, Scott, and Jerry were all working on this.
Foro is a spanish word, which in english means Forum.
i take it "Kier's Super Duper Awesome Forum Software" was taken
I'd say xen = zen and foro = forum
So in other words: Epic Fu
It looks like InternetBrands bought the body of VB but couldn't buy out its soul
god bless xf
+10000 on that.
I like the Xen part, but Foro seems a bit awkward in the English speaking world.
A rose by any other name is but a rose. Anyway, xenforo is quite easy to market (since it's unique and sounds...exotic).
My take on its meaning:
Xen = Different
Foro = Forum
XenForo = Different Forum [meaning not like other ones]
"xen" is a virtual machine monitor . Foro is Spanish for forum.
Xen also sounds cool.
Lol I agree on this...
By take on it is
Xen = Zen (minimalistic calming etc)
Foro = Forum (just a cool short and different way of doing it **except for the spanish**)
ya, really cool ...
Separate names with a comma.
