[XenCustomize] News Publisher: Home Page, Portal & CMS [Paid] 2.3.11

No permission to buy ($55.00)
Hello.
@Veer Does this addon have a "propose news" feature?
Hello,

If by "propose news" you mean allowing users to submit their own news for approval, this feature isn’t currently included. At present, only users with the necessary permissions can create and publish news directly.

We’ve noted your suggestion and will consider it for a future update. The idea would be that users without direct publishing rights could submit news into an approval queue for admins to review, while trusted groups could publish immediately.

To ensure your idea gets proper attention and tracking, we encourage you to post it in our site’s suggestions section.

📰 XenCustomize News Publisher: [Audentio] Feeds

This addon, which is a separate purchase for XenCustomize News Publisher, integrates it with the [Audentio] Feeds addon. It allows news stories and comments from News Publisher to be displayed directly in the Latest Activity feed. The addon also adds a "Publish a news story" button to the feed's "Create" menu, making it easy for users to quickly add new content.

✨ Key Features

  • Latest Activity Feed Integration: News stories and comments now show up in the Latest Activity feed, ensuring your news content is easily discoverable.
  • News Story Creation: A "Publish a news story" button is added to the feed, giving users a quick way to create new news posts directly from the feed view.
  • Content Filters: Filters for "News story" and "News comment" are added to the feed's filter options, so users can easily refine the feed to see only news-related content.

It's an amazing add-on, and I am loving it already! Just a question because I've been wondering. What is the function of the comments section if there is a discussions forum attached to each post?

That's an excellent question, and I'm so glad you're loving the add-on! :)

The key benefit of having both systems is flexibility. We designed it so you, the admin, can decide exactly how you want users to engage with your news stories.

Think of it this way:
  • Native Comments: These are the quick, on-page replies right below the article. They keep the discussion contained and focused directly on the content. They are fast, simple, and great for casual feedback.
  • Discussion Thread: This option is for deeper, more significant conversations. It leverages the full power of XenForo's forum system (prefixes, thread tools, detailed moderation, etc.).
Crucially, both are optional. You can choose to:
  1. Use only the native comments (and disable discussion threads in the news categories).
  2. Use only the discussion thread (and disable native comments via permissions).
  3. Use both.
  4. Use neither (for an announcement-only article/news).
It all comes down to your specific use case and how you want to manage community interaction.
