I was wondering if there was something similar to a wordpress site.
For example.

Yes.

In the News Publisher we call it "News thumbnail", not much difference.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but we have already included schema.org structured data (NewsArticle) with our news stories. This helps search engines recognize our content as legitimate news, which can lead to increased discoverability and better search rankings.

Please feel free to suggest ideas in our support forum, and we'll be happy to further improve our SEO options and features.

First, thanks for the great response we have received since the release!

As we receive feedback, we understand that many of you are still using XenForo 2.2 and may not plan to upgrade to 2.3 soon but are interested in using the News Publisher. Therefore, we have decided to develop a separate XF 2.2 compatible version with all the same features, excluding those introduced in XF 2.3, such as featured content, trending news, etc. We’re happy to say it’s in development and will let you know...

OOh, this is a bit of a gamechanger! Finally a news/CMS add-on for XF, tho currently only for 2.3...

Once one is available for 2.2 I for one will be in for that, as long as it gives the ability to upgrade to 2.3 once the time comes (just waiting for the last few developers to upgrade their add-ons - if they dont then they will just be removed)....

I am presuming that there is a way to make this the "homepage" of the site???

We're pleased to announce that the News Publisher for XenForo 2.2 is officially released!

Understanding that many of you are still using XF 2.2, we've created a dedicated version to bring you the same excellent features, minus the XF 2.3-specific enhancements.

Here are the two versions now available:

• News Publisher 2.2.0: Compatible with XenForo 2.2
• News Publisher 2.3.0: Compatible with XenForo 2.3

Great news: we’ve just released the XF2.2 compatible version of News Publisher, labeled News Publisher 2.2.0! It has all the same great features, minus the XF 2.3-specific additions. And yes, once you upgrade your XenForo to 2.3, you'll be able to upgrade News Publisher 2.2.0 to 2.3.0 seamlessly.

Regarding making it the homepage, absolutely! You can set it up as the homepage by going to your Admin CP, searching for the setting "Index page route" and setting it to "news-publisher/".
