Install the TinyMCE editor from 1.1.x series (if you upgraded your 1.2.x from a 1.1.x series it works fine - new installs do not since 1.2.x uses Redactor and not TinyMCE. Hopefully Chris will get this upgraded in the near future (after he gets the Gallery done) to work with 1.2.x editor. I know he has stated it is planned.Editor (TinyMCE) does not work. Turn it on in the settings. And he is not.

XenForo 1.1.5 archive or lower - should be avialable from the same place you downloaded 1.2.x series - just choose the 1.1.5 version.
probably under /js/jquery and /js/tinymce.
You don't REPLACE... you PLACE them from the 1.1.5 archive into the matching structure of the 1.2.x directory. I can't explain it any simpler than that.

Why would you want to download any version earlier than 1.6.2? You're on XF 1.2.3 so there would be no benefit to having an earlier version. If you look at the updates tab, using earlier versions would mean you'd lose features and miss out on fixes that have been implemented.
Because it doesn't support the new Redactor editor that XenForo uses. It only supports the OLD TinyMCE that was used with 1.1.x series when it was coded. It is planned to have it work with Redactor. He has other commitments that are a little higher priority right now.
