Xen Notices [Deleted]

Something I just noticed is that whilst on our dev site (with no CDN), the tinymce editor works fine in the ACP, it seems to fail on our live site (Nimbus Hosting with their CDN active for JS).

As in general all the other JS stuff going through the CDN is fine, I assume it's something related to it's implementation here?

In what way, fail?

The popup is empty and doesn't contain any input fields, etc.

On NimbusHosting we only have the CDN setup for our live site but have a subdomain with a test install on it. I suspect what's happening is that as the JS was first accessed on our test install, that's the version that got cached on the CDN and for some reason it's then failing on our live install.

None of our other JS has caused any problems but we did have a similar problem with one of our images on our test install being cached in our CDN and then used for our live site. I've asked Tim if he can take a look and tweak our CDN settings to stop files on our test install being sent to the CDN but even then, I don't quite understand why it fails as we don't have that issues with any other JS.

Thanks Chris! Just bought this brilliant script and love it already!
How do we go about getting updates to the script? Do you email out those who bought it?

I always send an e-mail but sometimes for various reasons people won't receive the e-mails.

So, make sure you keep the e-mail you've just received. That will always download the latest version available. Then, keep an eye out on this Resource as updates are always published here. (You can Watch the Resource with e-mail confirmation).

Hello, quick question about this resource. In the Overview when you're explaining the first notification you mention that the notice couldn't be dismissed but there's clearly an "X" at the upper right corner as if it could.

In the second orange one you allowed it to be dismissed and there's a "Dismiss Notification" link at the bottom.

If the notice cannot be dismissed, does the close symbol appear?

Yes.

The close button is a temporary way to get rid of the notification and a way for guests to close the notification.

Depending on settings it can be closed anywhere from just the current browser session all the way up to quite a few days.

But it will come back. Also it's cookie based so it will come back if you go to a different machine.

If you dismiss a notification then it goes away permanently

So, I just purchased this Add-on and installed it on a fresh install of XenForo (No other Add-ons except your Add-on Installer) and I get this:
Server Error
Undefined variable: caches

  1. XenForo_Application::handlePhpError() in AddOnInstaller/ControllerAdmin/AddOn.php at line 290
  2. AddOnInstaller_ControllerAdmin_AddOn->actionInstallUpgrade() in XenForo/FrontController.php at line 313
  3. XenForo_FrontController->dispatch() in XenForo/FrontController.php at line 132
  4. XenForo_FrontController->run() in /home5/eqaddict/public_html/testfiles/admin.php at line 13
Halp!

To be fair, for you to get that, there's probably some other problem... but there is indeed a bug. I'm about to release an update to address it. That might give us some more information.

You can just install an add-on manually for now (Upload the files) then go to the direct page in your Admin CP (rather than the Install & Upgrade link) for installing add-ons: http://yoursite.com/admin.php?add-ons/install

EDIT: The aforementioned update: http://xenforo.com/community/resources/add-on-install-upgrade.960/update?update=4635

Maybe asked before... but... 46 pages... lol.

Any option to "force" a user to agree to terms / accept they've read the notice. Eg a tickbox or redirect to an external page with said tickbox or similar first?

Not really. Best you can do is create a notification that will show on every page (same criteria as Notices) and allow it to be dismissible. The wording would have to say "By dismissing this notice you agree blah...". Or you could change the Dismiss Notification phrase to some other appropriate text.
