Xen Notices [Deleted]

Hmm, maybe I shouldn't use the "Post Resource Update" for adding videos... But I just have so :p

How would you guys prefer to see these? As Resource Updates? Updating the add-on post? Update on my website?

Hope you enjoy the first one.

I think updating the add-on post, posting it in the thread, and on your site would have worked. Would have killed 3 birds with 1 stone... ie.... Help inform people on the sale and informed your current customers (those who maybe lost).

The UPDATE post should really only be used when there really is an update (in my opinion). But it's your release, so it is your call.

Oooh, very nice :)
I'll have to check it out!

We got an academic license (I work at a college) really cheap, about £100. It's about £240 retail though.

Aside from the recording being flawless, the editing capabilities are fantastic. One of the best bits I like is it uses the YouTube API, so to upload all I do is click Publish in the app, log in to YouTube and boom it uploads :D

Just curious (because your css gradient tips thread prompted and reminded me of this and I thought you would be doing the css3 gradient thing yourself) is will you be doing some css3 gradient notices?
I will be, absolutely. At present, I'm purely learning the notice system. I've only played with it once thus far, being the first notice I posted, nutting out any issues in the add-on first.

When time permits, I absolutely plan on playing around with custom solutions.

I've used both Camtasia and Captivate, and found Adobe to be the superior product in the end. Captivate has far more features for screen recording than Camtasia does, IMO.
Ah ok, I'll try that out too then.

Not sure what version we have access to, but I'll check it out at work tomorrow. Thank you.

+1 for Captivate; it's a great resource.

Not sure how feasible it is, but I narrate videos at work if you need anything similar done here* (although am male, last time I checked).

*Time permitting!

Excellent to hear that :)

Just out of interest, what would make you buy it or not buy it at this stage?
Well to be honest I'd debating on adding another experience to the site right now. I'm going to think it over more and watch the demo again and see if it's really something we would find useful. I'm real bad about buying a "shiny" new mod, add it to my site then remove it a few months later because it's not being used. I'm trying to limit that :p

Also I'm not a huge fan of this type of browser experience. Similar to popup ads, mouse over ect..
Not to say they can't be implemented successfully, but just something for me to think over before making the purchase.

Fair enough, I wondered whether you were waiting it out to see if there's bugs, or new features being added or if there was any specific functionality you needed.

But - you're right - it's always good to take your time with these things :)

If there's any questions, please let me know :D
