They are treated as two separate things.

@Brogan is on the right lines of where I'm probably going to go with extra privacy options.

@Chris Deeming, with 1.3, how do you handle those photos already added into the categories - the ones didn't belong to any albums ... Will you let them run loose(w/o albums) or you have some default albums for each user to start with, once 1.3 is installed? Also, is content tagging ready in 1.3?

Also, I am kind of torn between this add-on and sonnb's add-on for now. I know you are a very capable developer who can take this add-on to a high level. But, the recent private projects seem to have slowed you down quite a bit for this add-on's development, however I fully understand - that is your personal choice. Just curious, can you foresee that, after 1.3 is out, you would be able to consider adding bigger features such as allow users FOLLOW ALBUM, BOOKMARK PHOTO(and auto. promote bookmarked photos to front page) etc.? If so, what would be the estimated wait time? Thanks!

Just done an upgrade from a previous version to current - however i also decided to rebuild the caches....

Whilst rebuilding i got...

Rebuilding Caches...
An error occurred or the request was stopped.

and it then carried on....

then...

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, you@example.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

however i seem to be missing a bulk of my images.... Just broken links.

Have tried rebuilding again, however I got the same....

Help??!?!?!

Which caches were you rebuilding? Thumbnails?

What version did you upgrade from?

Depending on the version, broken thumbnails is to be expected because the location of them changed (therefore a rebuild is actually necessary to get them to show properly).

Ok - it's the thumbnails that are broken - if i click on the broken image link, it loads the images ok....

And yes, it is the thumbnail cache that keeps breaking... :(

i think it was a very early version that i upgraded from...

I think the internal server error is because of the time it's taking (with the "failure") to complete the operation...

Could you check the following directory in your XenForo install?

data/xengallery

Does that exist?

If not, could you check that the entire data directory is completely writable (and make that apply to all files and subdirectories also) and then try the process again?

It's likely there's some sort of permissions issue... though the error is a lot less descriptive than I'd expect...

If you suspect that, you should (after verifying file permissions are ok as per my previous post) change the items to process per page down to much lower... even 1.

data/ is set as 755
data/xengallery is set as 755
/1, /2 etc are 755
Images in /1 /2 etc are 644...

From the manual:

3. Setting Permissions
Once the files are finished uploading, you must set permissions (or CHMOD) several places. This is necessary to ensure that XenForo can write to those parts of your server. You can usually do this with your FTP client.

  1. In the set of files and directories you just uploaded, you will see 2 folders: data andinternal_data.
  2. These two directories must be set to world writeable (CHMOD 0777) or give the IUSR_ Full Control in Windows.
Keep your FTP client open; you may still need it for the next step.

So you do have a data/xengallery directory and in that directory you have 0/ 1/ 2/ directories etc?

So it is rebuilding some thumbnails it seems.

How long does it take before it stops? Is there any indication as to its progress while it rebuilds?

Finally, as this seems to be some sort of generic server error, I think we need to see what your server error logs say.

Also. What image library are you using? Built In GD? Or ImageMagick?

It's in Admin CP > Options > Attachment Options.

Well thats just typical.

Havent done anything (Other than request access to the servers logs from my host - havent needed these before)... and thought i would video whats happening for you....

And typically enough it didnt fail!! And now all the thumbnails seem to be displaying again.

Really confused. Unless my host has found something... Will let you know..

And i'm using ImageMagick for the record.......

Problem seems to have fixed itself... Oh i hate that...

Thanks for your support Chris - I'll advise if they come back with something..

Cheers
Paul
