You will be able to import from both, but of course the media IDs won't be able to be retained for the second import.

Xen Medio and XF User Albums.

Then in future releases I will be looking at vB gallery, photopost, ip gallery etc.
Good stuff... patiently waiting for vB gallery importer.

Well, not so patient I guess if I'm posting about it :)
@Chris Deeming If it would help matters I can chip into a donation pot to get the vBGallery importer higher up on the list. :) I have a huge amount of content sitting in a vB 3.8.x vBGallery install that has never been able to be brought over to XF yet. :(

Profile albums is stock functionality in vbulletin 3 and 4. The vbulletin profile albums are user albums displayed on profile. See this vbulletin4 profile: http://kohila.eu/member.php?1-flawless
In the left sidebar there is an album module.
Here is an album: http://kohila.eu/album.php?albumid=14
Here is an overview of recently updated albums: http://kohila.eu/album.php

Be prepared though: its ugly. But there are 70.000 websites running it.
Here are the details: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html?manualversion=30807603

A vbulletin album importer is a popular request because so many of us want to migrate from vbulletin to xf, but before we can, we need user vb albums to migrate as well.

If you need a vb license to play with let me know.

Ugly, you can say that again...

But yeah this is basically easy to handle. I'm already planning an Albums tab on the user profile which will display all of the user's albums (that are public or shared with the user viewing the profile). That seems to be the equivalent of what we're talking about in terms of a profile album.

Yeah, its one of those features that were quickly added to vb3.8 to make vbulletin more attractive to buy for Internet Brands. After that the functionality remained without improvement. So its very basic and ugly. But thats also why your product is a fresh breath of air to all of us that have been using these ugly vb albums for 6 years. XMG will be a real treat to my users. :)

I think you may have misread the requests for a vbulletin album importer a requests for an vbGallery importer. Not that it matters a lot as both will be great to have.

At least in my postings "vBGallery" means the product named "vBGallery" from PhotoPost (formerly from vBadvanced) and not any stock vB functionality.

I did not mean to annoy you, so please do not take it that way. I was referring to discussion on xmg.com where a vbulletin album importer was requested and Chris replied about importing from vbulletin. It seemed to me that maybe it was misunderstood as Chris was not aware of the existence of vb albums until now. Example: http://xenmediagallery.com/threads/importers.40/#post-132

But as said, it does not matter. Its all good. XMG is developing beautifully. With importers and albums.

Then in future releases I will be looking at... photopost...
Waiting patiently to move my user data off of PP to your application. I'm sure you know PP installations have huge data in them. My PP has:
Photos 4,779
Comments 47,801
Views 14,089,833

And that's nothing compared to some others.
Do you currently import from VB User Albums, or that is a future extension too?

I have no importers yet and no user albums.

User albums and importers from some existing XenForo add ons will be version 1.3 and other importers 1.3.1 onwards. Along with the usual array of bug fixes.

I bought XMG today. I don't expect you to answer this here but here's my question: http://xenmediagallery.com/threads/xfr-user-albums-importer-questions.366/

Global Albums on XFR User Albums is pretty much the same feature available in XMG. Anyone with the Global Albums permission can add an image to a Global Album. The main difference between XMG and XFRUA is that XMG has categories and XFRUA does not. Can you create an option in the XFRUA importer to allow Global Albums to be imported into the XMG Gallery as a regular site album instead of another user created album?

Chris,

if i choosed an another "Route Prefix for Media URLs" at XenGallery installation, example: "gallery" instead of "media"

at "New Media" at "find-new/posts" would lead me to wrong route "media" if there are no new pictures.

can you please check this.

thank you!

I replied to your thread on the XMG site .. you most likely have a xengallery_media record pointing to a non-existent user_id. Check my post on XMG's site for more details.
