Who is sticking around?

Just personal stuff AFAIK, which really isn't surprising considering the circumstances. How well would you fare running a startup company and fighting a lawsuit for nearly 2 years while at the same time supporting a family? ;)

I personally don't ask for details. I just want to see XenForo past this lawsuit and to that end I am doing my part. Until the lawsuit is past everyone needs to have some empathy for KAM in their current situation.
When personal issues affect how a business is run then that fact (the fact alone) is the customer’s business. I don’t care what the personal issues are and never asked for details. However, since we all agree there are personal issues involved which seem to affect the development or even the future existence of XenForo, then I think that we are all entitled to be kept in the none personal loop so to speak.
As I’ve said elsewhere:
The way I see it XenForo’s situation is akin to a new Automobile manufacturer.
The first car rolled out two years ago but the production line has since gone idle.
When you walk into the showroom, which is still open, you find that the current stock is still being sold but when you start asking questions about the model at hand (such as warranty, accessories, sun roof, coupe version) you are told that nobody knows the answer and are asked to leave.

I am sure community would rally around KAM if they just came on the board told the community where they are with the software, lawsuit, and the future....Until they do (KAM) the moderators will have to deal with the threads that keep popping up asking the same thing day in and day out.....JMO

I am surprised no one really has suggested this but If the community really wants to know what happened to KAM. Why doesn't everyone pool some money together and hire a Private Investigator to see just what happened to KAM........
That's a really good idea but then it would just make us look like a bunch of creepers. Probably too late for that cause then Kier could show who all downloaded ReadPC

I'd settle for a "we're burnt out and taking 6 months off until the lawsuit is sorted but we're still committed to XF" over what we have now. The silence is so damaging as it allows stupid rumours to grow.

I am around and always will be (as long as I can that is :D )
I have seized my development because of my upcoming examination which I really need to ace (I have got only 1 month and I haven't finished the syllabus!!!)

Once my exam is gone... I come back with full throttle... ;)

I agree. I'm not interested in any personal issues or what has gone on to get to the current situation - all I want to know is that the XF team are still committed, even if that means no development is going on and no new updates until after the lawsuit.

Just tell me you'll fix any security issues that crop up and I'll be happy to wait.

Cheers,
Shaun :D

I am around and plan to be for a long time. I am away for a little while right now due to the Olympic and Paralympic games (as posted on my profile) but then it's all guns blazing from me.

For me, I don't see anything that I would want doing with the software that can't be done with an add-on. That is the beauty of this software and that is why I am not going anywhere.

I have no interest in what is going on with KAM.

Have you looked at the smiley manager?

I have seen many who are leaving and other are committing staying. Anyhow we need to hear any news or activity from the developer to calm the situation in here otherwise it would keep getting worst.

Personally, I would settle for the truth.

Jake, I want you to know I really admire the effort you put into helping XenForo customers with their sites. And I hope you will understand I mean no disrespect in what I am about to say.

You tell us nothing untoward is happening behind the scenes. And then, you turn around and admit you simply do not ask for details on what is happening. Which leaves me wondering how it is you feel qualified to speak to the subject. Can you not see if you do not know what is really happening, then you're not the one to be trying to diminish customer concerns? I get you wanting everyone to have a positive attitude, I really do. But without tough answers to tough questions, do you really expect us to be positive about blue sky promises and reassurances? My thoughts are that if Kier and Ashley were as equally concerned with their customers having positive attitudes, they would be the ones trying to create that environment, and not asking you to do it in their stead.

I spent nearly four decades in sales. I know exactly what it means when business owners stop answering the phone, stop promoting their product and start ignoring the concerns of their customers. I also know when two salesmen meet, they both need to understand it is impossible to blow smoke up each other's backsides.

I hope you do not see this as being confrontational. I only hope you will be able to understand perceptions are based on positions, and the view is not so clear from this side of the table.
