Where is 1.1?

LOL can't use that excuse for 1.1 as the hurricane is no where near the headquarters for XenForo.

Bank Holiday Monday (UK), 29th August, 2011, is the day for v1.1; I hope! :)
Looking forward to a fantastic XF era of foruming! ;)

Complaining about 1.1 not being released by the end of summer(then debate about when summer actually ends) is a technicality, when in turns makes developers not ant to mention at all when software is to be released, because of all the bickering and commotion about it. This isn't a court room, technicalities gets you no where. The software is managed and developed by the same people, so they can actually do whatever they want...

Just be grateful that they even mention "loosely" when it will be released.

Having a few years experience, I already know that after 1.1 comes out, people will begin asking when 1.2 because the current release is never enough. Then there will be bickering and commotion about that, maybe even a bit of whining.

A word of advice: I can tell you that waiting around for software to be released will end up hurting you more than helping you. I waited for 2 years on SMF 2.0 stable to come out, and I ended up missing the train. Now my project ideas aren't so great anymore. Don't put yourself in the same situation. If vB isn't working for you, and you can't wait for xF 1.1, then try something else or just deal with it.

Well... one thing taken from this is with all these complaints I wouldn't blame KMA if they never announce even a general date for a release again :(.
All of this is exactly why many companies don't. And I don't blame them one single bit.

I wouldn't blame them if they don't announce another new version :P, just keep the HYS's coming and people will drool over them then magically have 1.1/1.2/1.3/etc come out and have people mindgasm over it. :P

Is that what they call "web 2.0 porn"?

Don't mistake excitement for impatience though. Excitement about a future release is good. :)

I'm planning to move a big-board to XF. I can't even consider the technical aspect until I know what's in 1.1, and even then may need more (or something specific) and have to wait a little longer, but that's okay - I'm willing to wait - you know why? Because I know that when it comes it'll be good and will, well, just work!!!

Cheers,
Shaun :D

Is always good to keep costumers track of whats to come. But, the company has to announce that within a month before the release. Not 3+ months its just long time and i think they failed when they announced the release earlier

i have to admit that l love to be informed about whats coming no matter how long is the wait

To be fair you had (few months back) developers wanting to know what was being included so they didn't need to develop add-ons/features which are being included and then you had the roadmap thread which put additional pressure on the announcement/ what is to come. A damn if you do, damned if you don't scenario.

i think this teaches them a lesson to not announce anything until its done ...o_O
