XF 2.1 When is a draft saved?

If I type a message, I can cause a draft to be saved by clicking on the drive icon. Nut if I don't do that then I understand it will be automatically saved.

Is this a constant process or happens at certain intervals of time. if so what are those intervals?

I think it's somewhere around every 60 seconds (from memory).

ACP > Setup > Options > Messages

"Save drafts every X seconds"

I think the default may be 60 seconds as I don't recall editing that.

Just noticed if you type something then stare at the drive icon, a green dot appears after a while (60seconds?) presumably to indicate it is saving.

But if you don't stare at the icon, who knows whether it is saving or not?

Note the time has changed (v 2.2) to every three seconds once you’ve stopped typing.
