XF 1.2 What's the best way to achieve this route change?

Thanks Mike. The instructions in the form there imply that it only works on subnodes of the forum root. E.g. on subnodes of /community.

E.g. I set up on our sandbox (http://xf.avforums.com/sandbox/ installation)

maps to
information/

Oh I missed that in your URLs. What you want to do (in terms of actually setting as the canonical URL) isn't possible within XF because you want the link to be outside the XF install directory. As such, I don't really have a particular recommendation - XF should be ensuring that the page URL is canonical so at best you could define a redirect for the desired URL to the actual page URL.

Or you need to move your contact page to something more custom.

May i ask why you didn't install xenforo in the htdocs root?
Having it now in the community directory, makes all the operations outside of the xf directory more complicated (e.g. like your current problem)
And since you hadn't moved to xf yet, couldn't you evaluate this?

I was advised to install it in a sub folder. I'm not fully aware of the ramifications of doing either.
And we could conceivably change at this point.
We currently have a vBulletin install in the /forums folder.

Some definitive, expert advice would be appreciated at this point.

Originally I thought we'd be having a separate system for the editorial which would power the home page.
But now it's an addon inside Xenforo which runs everything.
Root, I guess might be the best... route.
