What is next for XenForo?

I don't think this is coming next, and may never come at all, but I'd love to see customized profiles.

How would you like them to be customised? Allow to select preset colour choices and upload a custom background? Or apply their own CSS?

:)

One of the things I didn't like about vBulletin or IPB was somethings stayed pending forever. Always on the back burner and never resolved.
To be fair - most of the future fixes are usually "problem childs" that require something else to be broke in order to fix those. For example, a lot of people complained that the text toolbox wasn't really working their way, and the xenforo staff knew about this, so they put it in future fixes - and voila - it was fixed in 1.2, and then added features that were suggested...

And whenever 1.3 comes into being, it could be something for them to look into.

Because 1.2 came along and a lot of those future fixes were still left alone.

  1. Social Groups (As good or better than JomSocial groups) (events with google map, gallery, blog, etc.)
I personally can see a great potential for social groups to enhance the forum experience when fully integrated into a bunch of other functionality that XenForo will offer, but that's a discussion for another day and a later version.
  2. Blogs (As good as or better than IP.Blogs with VB3.8 customization.)
  3. Custom Profiles (Exactly like VB3.8 offered. Not 4.x etc. Add in ability to add custom media blocks.)
  4. Calendar (with google maps, your events actually shown on your profile, events linked from #1 above)
  5. Profile photo albums.
  6. Personalized entrance page. (It's been requested on XF, VB, IPB, etc) Give users the content that matters to them most FIRST.
  7. Fun....! VBPlaza replica, an arcade, & #3 above.

A moderator log on the front end, so my moderators can see what actions are being taken. This is incredibly useful, as everyone can see latest actions and what posts were moderated etc. I used to used the per thread one, but I did not find that as useful as a global one.

An easy way to find soft deleted posts, cause if you miss them, they might be stuck in limbo forever. This is something we shouldn't be relying on 3rd party addons, and not something hidden away in the ACP, where you have to trawl through potentially dozens of moderator actions to see if anything need hard deleting.

Maybe also a bit more WYSIWYG, hiding BBCODE all together in the editor, which includes code and quote tags. Would love to see a bit more flexibility in the editor as well, for example being able to disable some bbcode (especially font size and font color, some users are trying really hard to use colors that are impossible to read on your background). In fact, I would settle for a simple button manager for the bbcode editor, and setting the editor to paste text unformatted, because removing the button is a defacto way of disabling the bbcode.

A true menu manager, where you can enable and disable links easily on the navbar. Right now you can either add them in the middle, at the start or at the end, but not being able to choose the display order your self. Also being able to configure the dropdown would be real nice as well.

But, like, four. And trivial ones at that. The vast majority have been posted within the last year. Not unusual, considering some of those require more than a couple of code line changes.
Let's count together. There are total 23 future fixes.
6 of them from 2011
2 of them from 2012
2 of them from 2013 (before 1.2 was announced/installed here)
Total of 10 that could have been fixed.
I hope 1.3 would clear some of them out (especially the older once).

Jesus Christ they didn't release a major update for over a year because of litigation and they only have 23 future fixes piled up.

Some of you need to take a Xanax and chill out. That or find something else to ***** about.

I look forward to the start of Have You Seens for 1.3 or 2.0. Whichever it may be.
