XF 2.0 What does "disabling" an account do exactly?

While updating one of my addons, I stumbled across the fact that accounts can now be marked as disabled...

What exactly does this do?

Pretty much what it says.

The account can only be disabled via the Admin CP and once it is disabled, the account can no longer access the forum. A message will be displayed stating the account is disabled.

It can be done when a user requests their account to be disabled, for whatever reason.
