If, like many people, you're departing Twitter (yes, Twitter) and you're finding your new home at Bluesky, you can now find us there too:

bluesky like mastodon can run on multiple domains i believe so having a sharing intent for it that works on more than one domains adds a bit of complexity similar to fediverse. the share intent below specifically targets the bsky.app domain. it also does not seem to include the thread title in the shared content.

or maybe i am wrong about federation mechanism of the at protocol. would have to read documentation to see how it federates on its own ecosystem.

Following you already!

Bluesky Font awesome is not working for me, in phrase or navigation is this wrong? Or do we need to wait for 2.3.5?

{icon:fab::bluesky}

or

.m-faIcon(@fa-var-brands-bluesky);

you're departing Twitter (yes, Twitter)

I have some other words for it, none of which are X

There is no Bluesky icon available in Font Awesome 5.

It will be available in 2.3.5 using the {{ bluesky_logo() }} templater function (similar to how the X icon works).

Probably not usable in phrases or navigation, unfortunately.

It is a Font Awesome 6 Free icon though so you'd be able to download the SVG and use it.

Although this might change as the way we did the X logo was mostly a stop gap for 2.2 compatibility. We might be able to serve and analyse custom icons in 2.3.

There are so many social media platforms. Yes, it is good to add to the script. But is there a bluesky migration over x after the US elections? Why bluesky?

bluesky has been popular over threads for people dumping x because it is closest to old twitter you can get these days. moderation settings are quite powerful. i like it for what it is. i personally prefer masto but a social network is useless if you do not get to use it for what you use it for.

That would be pretty cool, I'm gonna release Bluesky Poster soon and it was sad to not be able to use Bluesky icon in the settings 😅

Well done on adding Bluesky. Agreed, Twitter is the proper name for it, not that stupid abomination that Musk renamed that cesspit to.

BTW, this is my 1000th post. :)

A tangent question.... I noticed XF is using the custom domain name for the account handle (xenforo.com); when that is done, does Bluesky then also block the non TLD version of the name (xenforo) to try to prevent impersonators of the the verified accounts? 🤔

checked and looks like not. xenforo seems to be available as an id that can be used.

using your own domain name is a good way to verify identity. since bluesky has federation capability, it is going to eventually end up on multiple domains each of which would have your choice of keyword available on it.

Will we be able to embed posts from Bluesky? Maybe they aren’t posts, but if twitter had tweets there must be a name for them? Like birds go “tweet” so whatever sound a butterfly makes.
