Hi, I am Rick Gaspa, the founder of Veterans Briefing.com - "We Are The Voice Of The American Veteran".

Our mission:
We strive to be all we can be as a media outlet dedicated to discussing active military and veterans issues. Our content will convey a vast variety of informative and entertaining reading, which will find broad appeal to veterans and non-veterans alike.

Our Goals:
The goal is to bridge the gap of the many issues that current, past, and even future generations of veterans will face. The issues that will have a real impact on the individual soldier and veteran within the military and civilian community.

Veterans Briefing.com turned on the lights and opened it's doors the late part of December 2014. We have around 190 members, and most are very active on the site. You will find the site active any time of the day due to our active military membership and veterans. These folks are stationed around the world at military installations and in of course many different time zones.

The content you will find on our site is VERY niche specific. Our content is geared to active United States military members and veterans of the military. We also welcome military spouses, and friends of the military who have not enlisted in service.

Photo's and images are a very big and important part of our site. We ask that every thread posted by it's members or guest writers add at least one (1) content related photo to the thread. If a photo is not submitted, our moderators have been rejecting the posted thread as of June 15th, 2015. We feel a picture says a thousand words and the feedback from our members agree.

We recently, (as of June 15, 2015) asked that if at all possible the thread titles start as a question. We also asked that the question title be used to create a POLL. We feel that a poll in addition to a comment to the thread helps make our site more interactive. A way to interact member to member. This of course creates a more active site.

We also have a free raffle each month. The items raffled are ALWAYS content and site related. At present, we have a seven (7) thread or reply minimum to enter the raffle. This posting minimum helps us keep our site active with comments and replies. We are thinking of also adding a minimum "LIKES" to enter but have not done so at this time.

We Have five (5) general forums. Veterans Chat, VA Benefits Information, Military Humor, Wall of Honor and Jobs for Veterans. Our Veterans Chat forum is our more active forum by 90%

Avatars are required on our site, and there are some other questions that are required in order to become a member. Real names are not required, and a military related name is recommended. We love to see profile status changes however we have not found a way to get our members to use this feature as of yet.

We also have four Official (4) forums. Got News? Report It Here, Announcements, Active Raffles / Sweepstakes and our Private Staff Forum. The first two forums are NOT as active as we would like to see and will probably be separated from service in the next few months.

We are just now getting to work with site sponsors. Our hopes are that every message forum will have a site sponsor assigned. Our monthly payout in order to keep the site online is approximately One Hundred Dollars ($100USD), and we have hopes of someday not relying on only our members for support.

We use to be affiliated with a radio station at the beginning, but it turned out not to be a good fit for what we were trying to accomplish. Sometimes, sponsors have their own agender and in this case we could not and would not let them use our members base and type of site for publicity of what we considered in bad taste.

We are also in the market for a new theme and portal. We are open and would very much appreciate any suggestions if you know of something that would be a good fit with our site. If you know of a good addon that may fit with our site we would also love to know about it.

Please feel free to register and check out site. We value any suggestions you may have. Be sure to PM me when you do at @RickGASPA so I know that your suggestions are coming from a fellow XenForo member.

Veterans Briefing.com has closed.
The Veterans Briefing.com's story ends here. Many challenges in the United States of the American Veteran remain unsolved, and we failed to create a sustainable platform for reading. For this, we’re deeply sorry.

Here is the good news.
Veterans Briefing.com partnership with DAV.org. DAV (Disabled American Veterans) is the most long-lasting veteran's advocacy and assistance group in this country. We’ve watched this country change and grow, and we’ve grown along with it. However, DAV has never wavered in its core mission to fulfill our country’s promises to the men and women who served. We invite everyone, veterans and civilian, men and women, young and old, to join us as we stand up for those veterans who risked it all when they stood up for us, our country, and our ideals. My hopes are to see you all on the new DAV site. Here we will be fulfilling our promises to the men and women who served.
