Also, if pages are listed as child forums, it actually says "sub-forum". Shouldn't it say "pages"? Especially if only pages are listed there.

I would even go so far as to say they could be called sub-nodes, considering that is the general term for categories, forums and pages.
 
Generally, speaking the software doesn't know what's under a node (in terms of types of children; it does know whether it has children).

Also, we don't call them "nodes" in end-user facing elements. We tend to just use "forums" there.
