Not planned Version number?

Are you gonna include a version number in the footer?

Example:

Forum software by XenForo. Version 1.0.0?

Just wondering how major versions and point versions are going to be dealt with on here and how they are going to work.

Yay! Really cant see why some people think its a good idea for it to be shown to users...they cant do anything with that information (other than hunt for exploits).

The official XenForo.com site is always somewhere between the current and next release.

Updates are rolled out on a continuous basis and once there is justification, a new public release is made available.

I've also merged your thread with an earlier one suggesting this.

Listing the version number is a borderline security issue. Thus, we only expose it to the admin in the CP.

Those same people most likely haven't updated their forum software to the latest if they don't know what the current version is.
Does it make a difference to show them what xf.com is running?

It's the site manager's role to keep a tab on this. The AdminCP displays the version.
