I doubt it would take anything like that, but you should see it progressing on the import page.

You can also view the forums etc while its importing.

If the quoted post has been imported, it should update the link, otherwise it cant - as it wont know the new post number.

The remapping of quoted posts doesn't work if it cant find the post the quote is referring to, that means it will just leave the quote unchanged.

That's the original quote structure from vB, so the old post id is 53161, if that post have been imported then the quote structure will be changed to match xF's quote style: "blackcatstudio, post: x" (where x is the new post id)

Other than possibly being an old vbulletin4.php version I don't know, can't reproduce it on my xF board, nearly all the quoted posts are importing correctly with the latest version (have yet to see one that failed) from a vB4 database.

Just to be clear, the re-mapping needs to be able to find the quoted post at the point of import, if the quoted post hasnt been imported yet, it wont be found. However, since most posts quote an older post in the same thread, that generally should not be an issue.

Are you sure you used the latest version, if so then there is no explanation. If its not too large then feel free to send me a copy of your database so I can see if it can be replicated.

New version uploaded.

As of version 1.13 this has experimental import of Social Groups, Blogs and CMS Articles - it will attempt to import them to a set of forums viewable by Staff only.

Please feel free to test this functionality and let me know how it works - I only have small test forums to test it on.

Never use this for a live forum until you have tried it on a test forum first.

I dont quite follow you here, and not sure what the screenshots are supposed to be showing me !

That must be something to do with the XF importer in general, nothing in the VB4 file could do that - How may cms categories do you have ? If its a lot then maybe something is timing out while it creates them.

Any chance you could send me your database so I have something bigger to test it on ?

I just imported 500,000+ messages of 30,000+ members from my test database (it took me about 3 hours, without the attachments - will try that another time).

A few issues:

- The importer failed on all the umlauts/special characters (äöüß), e.g. the word "hörer" is converted to "hörer" now.
- Also no umlauts/special characters show up in the url of the thread. e.g. the word "großes" is "gro%C3%83%C5%B8es" in the url.
- Some of my members used a comma (,) in their username. In vB that was no problem, in XenForo it's not allowed.
- I had to merge users with the same email address.

Any solutions for that?

None of those issues are specific to the vb4 importer, so there is probably little I can do.

The character problems sounds like some kind of utf8 issue.

Duplicate e-mails are not allowed in XF - so all you can do is change the e-mail for affected users.

As for comma's in usernames, thats probably the only thing I could do something about - convert them to a full stop.

I have zero categories, 31 main sections, and less than 10 sub-sections. So under 50 sections total. There are 210 articles.

Ah, a bit of a terminoligy issue, I mean sections. The latest uploaded version will refresh the screen before processing the sections - not sure if that will help stop any timeout.

Well... I go the same error, but I think it may have to do with something specific in an article maybe... a character or such possibly, as it stops at the same article each time, but using the back button with continue allowed it to keep going.

Maybe a chrome issue, as chrome seems to be having some issues lately with ongoing releases.
