Variable width on menus and other elements?

This is a question with regards to translating xenForo. With some languages words tend to be longer than their English counterparts.
Will the menus, nav tabs and so on play nicely with longer words?

Generally speaking, yes. There are widths in a few places required due to browser bugs (hello IE). If you run into a problem, we'd endeavor to fix it obviously.

Mike, please checkout the attachement. There are 2 colums with menuitems. Are the width fixed? Some menu will be in german too large/width.

Those particular columns are a fixed width, but appropriate widths will become apparent when translations are underway.
