Users Getting Kicked

Some of my users are getting logged out when they follow links, even internal links. I have to kill whatever is causing this. No errors or anything. They just get kicked. Any ideas??

I've seen this with a friend's forum.
it seemed to be a www vs. non-www thing.

In my friend's case
his site is site.com/forum
www.site.com/forum would log users out.

I could do that, but I also need it to stop kicking people when following external links too. That may take care of the internal link kicking.
