XF 2.0 Usergroup Permission issue

So once a donation is made, a user is automatically added to a secondary usergroup.
The secondary usergroup has extra permissions, custom user title, more images, etc.

For some reason once they have that secondary usergroup attached to their profile, it seems like the primary usergorup permissions trump the secondary - which whenever I think about it I'm like "well yeah, duh, "primary."

But I believe the only option with my donation system to to add a secondary usergroup to the members profile...

I'm running in circles on this one because I know it's something stupid and simple - because this function worked fine for me on XF 1.5

Any help would be appreciated!

I use the same system for donation. I change the user group of my member into the primary one after the donation for my part.

When setting a user group, you can set a priority level. A higher level exceeds a lower level. Simply set the priority of the group in which the users come after the donation higher than that of the primary.

It should not happen like that it depends on the setting of the permission.

A yes will override a no, but a never overrides a yes. As mentioned by Tommx for styling you set a priority on the group.
