user forgot to confirm e-mail link

a user at my forum forgot to confirm the "e-mail confirmation link" which is being send during registration.

How do I make this user a valid registered member in ACP ?

In the ACP, click on Users, enter the username and change the state to Valid at the bottom.

Alternatively you can re-send the confirmation email.

when I click on "Valid", the users then show up at the Members-List.
But within the Sidebar at "Forum Statistics", it does not show the correct number of members, meaning the members for which I changed their "State" from "awaiting e-mail confirmation" toards "Valid" are not showing in the number of "Members" in the sidebar Forum-statistics.

You have to wait for the cron task to run.
It will update next time it does.

how often is the cron running ? Is the cron already build into XF-software or do I need to set-up a cron-job at my server or something?

The cron tasks are built in and run automatically.

You can trigger them manually if you wish - ACP -> Tools -> Cron Entries
