Is the only way for users to post videos via YouTube embed? What if users do not use YouTube but want to upload a video?

for the few users who do not have a youtube, vimeo, etc., can I add .mov to the attachment extension list in the options?

Adding .mov as an allowable extension won't embed the video and allow others to watch it.

Does your hosting account allow for a lot of space and bandwidth?
Additionally, without changes to the php and sql config, you will encounter problems trying to upload large files.

You really are just better off getting your members to use dedicated video hosting sites.
