Turnkey Mobile Apps for XenForo with Addon/Theme Support, Android & iPhone [Deleted]

Since it has been brought up, I just want to clarify the rule regarding resources making callbacks to external servers:
If information (such as regarding the server or user) is disclosed to an external server in the process of installation, use, or uninstallation of your add-on, the information that is being disclosed and when it will be disclosed must be clearly listed in your resource description (and on your site, if appropriate). To be clear, if an external server must be contacted during normal execution and to perform a core function of the add-on, that does not need to be explicitly disclosed.
Source: https://xenforo.com/community/help/resource-guidelines

For the use case described above by vbresults, the callback does not need to be declared. In terms of how Android and iOS push alerts work, it's fairly obvious and a given that communication needs to happen for the core function of the add-on.

That said, vbresults may choose to disclose this specific function in the resource description or FAQ if they wish as I suspect it may come up again.

If there are any further questions about this, please contact me directly (so as not to derail the topic of the thread).

I can not find it on your page view out my problem. anyway

vbresults updated Mobile App for XenForo with Push Notifications, Android + iPhone/iPad with a new update entry:

* Added Monthly Pricing, Added 60-day No-Questions-Asked Money-Back Guarantee, Support on Github

Added Monthly Pricing
We have added a $47/mo monthly pricing option to replace the previous yearly fee that we had to provide. We have also reduced the external store account extras from $195 to $37 each, and removed the store creation extras.

Prior license owners are grandfathered into the old pricing and are unaffected.

Added 60-day No-Questions-Asked Money-Back Guarantee
If after following the instructions we provide, the FPD passes and you don't get more traffic, if your users aren't more engaged, if they are not thanking you for providing apps for them, then we don't feel like we deserve to keep your money.

"FPD"...

To provide clear confirmation, we are handling all further discussions in the github issue tracker. We will no longer reply to this discussion except when posting resource updates. We'll resume addressing new issues [on GitHub] on Tuesday when business hours resume.

Ah that's a shame, essentially this went from $197 per year, to $564 a year. I know we're not meant to comment on prices but just showing my support for your old pricing. I was watching this app closely and was ready to buy once I saw the bugs ironed out.

Personally, I'm not sure how a limited native browser on the website using the built in responsive XenForo PLUS Pushover is selling for 4x the amount XenForo does, and they made the damn responsive design.

Anyway, outside of comments on pricing, my honest thoughts:
  • This is not the mobile app for XenForo everyone wanted. This is worse than just using Safari/Chrome. This is a limited browser with back, forward and home BUT (here comes the part which makes it worth $600/yr) it has Pushover, but they don't call it pushover
  • The author admitted it was buggy but refused a refund to a buyer, stating all bugs were fixed. Fixing the bugs is your responsibility to other clients, personally, if one of my add-ons were extremely buggy I'd probably give a refund to someone kindly requesting a refund

I don't like your ethics in this business, nor the add-on, honest and personal opinion.

Everyone has their reasoning I suppose. I for one think it would be extremely nice to tell our users to download "our own app" to receive alerts for our styles, add-ons and support tickets. That along with the ability to force a specific style I could easily customize a style to make a unique browsing experience specific to the mobile app users.

You're right though about a lot of things. I really don't think this project was thought out a ton, I mean pricing has changed multiple times already in the short time span of it being active. I will say though there have been multiple updates since it's launch so I'm letting others test it out a little more :). But if the price stands at $600 a year then it's definitely not worth it to me.

Since the price of this is 47USD per MONTH, shouldnt the support duration be for a MONTH and not a year? What happens if someone had this for 6 months and decides to no longer renew? They will have their app in the app stores for another year or it will be removed straight away.

Considering there have been so many 'bug fixes' and no actual feature updates disappointed to see the price jump so high.

At this point, you are just better off going with tapatalk BYO. Not saying Tapatalk is great, but your paying for a more native app compared to a simple wrapper. Kind of a shame...

@vbresults

You may want to clarify your 60 days moneyback policy. You state 60 days but in the body you mention user should notify you within 30 days. So is it 60 or 30?

Also 3 drastic price changes in the last little while does not sound assuring, money is not so much the issue as the fact that it hints of lack of thought and although you've rightly grandfathered current users it sends the pessimist in me a message that anything is possible in the future if apps are tied under your appstore accounts.

I'm watching this project with avid interest and I hope it goes far. My personal thoughts for any new starter, find a captive audience, build good positive feedback and a customer base before you capitalize. Difficult to do this with such a pricetag and a limited feature set but that's your business.

* Enabled native-like style enhancements for forums that have their release set to "Latest"

Enabled native-like style enhancements for forums that have their release set to "Latest" instead of the default "Stable". This does not require an update of any sort, only a change in the add-on settings. Example of the native-like style below. View attachment 121417

You wasted you're time typing all that out, he has already stated he has no intention of replying to this thread anymore.

I've gone off this completely.

I wasn't a fan when the price tag was $2000, i wasn't a fan when it was $600, it peaked my interest at $195, but not hes chosen to rent this out. Also the way he has handle king and his issues speaks volumes to me.

Speculation, but probably moved to Github so he can control the issues, and police the repsonses.
