Not a bug Thread Start Alert

I've just received an alert for a thread being started in a forum I'm not watching:



and this is the forum showing the thread (and that it's not being watched).

Thanks Chris, just figured that now, as I saw the reply e-mail come through just now (I was watching the thread).

Yes, I split those posts off from the how to upgrade thread.

Didn't realise you got a new thread alert when they are split off now.

You don't really - it's just somewhat context sensitive. You got the alert when it was posted. The text changed after it was split. The same thing would've happened in 1.1, it just would have said it was a reply (even though it was the first post in the thread).

But I don't even know what that thread was, it's very confusing. Plus I want to be notified only by the posts in the thread, not the new threads that separated from the original discussion.
