Usability fixes and enhancements

  • Enhancement: Show "Clear All" link in the filter bar when there are active filters or sorting
  • UI enhancement: Show the label for numeric fields in active filter list in the mobile view
  • Bug-fix: Removing filters does not clear some configuration info for that filter in the URL
  • Bug-fix: Sorting by any custom field does not show the link to revert to the default sorting order as it does for default sorting options
  • Bug-fix: Sorting by a custom field requires "Allow Filter"...

Would it be possible to extend the option "Show in Thread List" (in every form for custom thread fields) to mobile?
For now the custom thread fields are only shown on the desktop version. It would be nice to show them on mobile too.

Would be a little, handy upgrade.

There is no specific rule in the product hiding the fields under thread title on mobile. As you can see on our demo board at https://xf2.addonslab.com/index.php?forums/field-values-in-thread-list.6/ the fields are actually visible on mobile:

199401

There might be some specific CSS rule on your board hiding them. If you are using a custom theme, theme provider should have a suggestion on how to make them appear, if it is on the default theme, please provide us a URL where we can see the issue and we will check why it happens.

Thank you!

Elasticsearch 2.x compatibility with other minor fixes

The version fixes a PHP error caused by Elasticsearch 2.x incompatibility. Your installation is not affected by the issue if filtering brings any results with ES enabled. We have also implemented a new option to set Cache TTL controlling how long the results of the search should be cached in the MySQL database. Setting the option to 0 will disable the cache. The option should be used only to troubleshoot issues that could be caused by invalid cache.

Due to a limitation on how many items are...

Fantastic!

For the open/closed thread switch, this is how I have it implemented on my test server.

201935

I'm sure you have an idea of the best way to implement it, but ideally we'd be able to set this on a per-forum basis along with a show or hide by default setting. In our situation we want to use it to automatically hide closed threads in our classified sections unless a user opts to show them.

Major update planned

Hello everyone,

we are planning a major update of the product, that will include a new type of custom fields - Location and related tools. This custom field type will allow entering location-related information, optionally allowing to choose the country, state (if applicable), city, zip code, street address. This information will be stored in the database, and filters will allow searching/filtering by this information. Filter form will allow finding any items within X km/miles from a given...

Request: "Disable default filter fields" option selected per node.

Thanks

Thank you for the suggestion. Per-forum options are somewhat more time-consuming to implement, but we will consider it as soon as possible. We already have the list for the next major update we are planning, this feature will be included in the list or will be implemented as a minor release later.

Thank you!

Thank you for the suggestion. It definitely could be implemented, but it would work somewhat different from the example mentioned. I see in the example, that the custom field's values can be a range instead of a single value. In XenForo, however, there is no "Range" type of custom field, only a single numerical value is allowed. This type of UI would end up showing results which match the value exactly, which does not seem to be that useful. Anyway, we will add the task to our TODO list, and see what would be the best way to implement it.

Thank you!
