The Known Universe

Guys, the whole multiverse thing is just at the theory stage right now. Unlike the Big Bang, which is an event most scientists agree upon, the multiverse theory is one which has been proposed to explain some observations.

True, but isn't that how it starts? :p

I've been hearing/seeing documentaries and some research into it a lot more often now though, so it's definitely a theory that's picking up ground in terms of research at least.

Of course if we find nothing, I may have to resort in believing we're in an alternate universe where there are no alternate universes. ;)

Most of Science is based off of theory. Yes, most scientists may agree upon it now, but that doesn't make it not a theory until it is proven to be fact.

Some might say that some of cosmology and its related theories (such as the multiverse) is a psuedo-science, since we cannot test those theories. Scientific theories are such that they must be testable, otherwise they are really just speculation. Interesting to play with on an intellectual level, sure, but not really scientific theories in their own right.
