The Google SEO leaks

I am very skeptical, and that's being generous.
What, you don't completely and utterly believe someone who uses this quote:

"An eagle uses the storm to reach unimaginable heights.
– Matshona Dhliwayo"

I am always hesitant to believe any publication that says "ex-employees shared documents" in the IT industry, as that literally leads to major legal action.

The person who leaked (Erfan Azimi, EA Eagle Digital) is self-declared #1 SEO in the world, has only had jobs related to SEO since 2016, and doesn't seem to have much success outside of his own claims. So, your average SEO shill who has more words than credentials, and even less ability.

Not to mention EA Eagle Digital is a relatively new company (4 months), and this could easily just be an attempt to boost its relevancy in a market that is saturated.

A lot of the overall bulletpoint claims are things that have been known for a long time (and have been moderately transparent).

Google has confirmed authenticity.

Authenticity is not what I'm skeptical about. I'm skeptical about it being the super duper, wow it's amazing, ranking secrets are out document so many think it is. It's not.
  1. It's 5 years old and a lot of big changes have rolled out in Google in the past 5 years.
  2. Its not ranking factor or scoring documents.
  3. Its mostly a set of internal API related documents.
People who aren't the experts they claim to be (like the so-called SEO expert who "anonymously" passed it on to the leaker), have misread them. IMO, these documents have not changed the state of good SEO practices.
