Can anyone advise on a good way to save versions of the site's code, to be able to recover and revert during development, without having to save all of the content from users along with it and loose that any time there's a jump back to a previous version?
Is there a group of files that can be saved separately for all of the content on the forum, and that can be maintained separately even as different versions of the forum's code are used?
I've been using DigitalOcean snapshots to store as development proceeds, which obviously doesn't work very well once there's threads and comments which get deleted if you have to revert to an earlier version for development reasons. I'm guessing there's a simple solution I'm too new at this to know about yet.
