XF 2.2 Targeting HTML Widget Icons

I've just finished a custom HTML widget and was looking to change the fontawesome icon in the header (using iO theme); specifically "h3.block-minorHeader:before". I figured the widget key would show as a data tag somewhere and allow me to target it easily, but this isn't the case. Does anyone know what I can do to target the widget?

Unfortunately, custom widgets do not have the widget key or ID passed to the template, so they can't be targeted.

I believe there is an open suggestion for it.

To work around this I just enabled Advanced mode in the widget properties and then manually put the block html around the widget's content, adding the widget key myself.

Yes, that's currently the only way to do it.

It does require manually copying the block HTML but it's not a major problem.
