XF 2.0 Spam Links

Hi,

We're noticing when we remove spam accounts as 'spam', they are increasingly including URLs within their profiles which remain post ban/removal.

Is there anyway we can prevent this?

One option would be to delete spammer accounts. This is what I do if the account has no posts.

Don't forget to ban the email in that case.
Otherwise, you could batch update users (/admin.php?users/batch-update) and remove at least the clickable links from there.

I had that same type of account on my forum show recently (same link) but using @mail.com, I added *@mail.com as a banned email as well

... but their website 'about' URL remains on their profile after cleaning as spam.

Don't forget to ban the email in that case.

But the ones that get through, I find the link remains on the spam accounts profile

It would be nice if the Ban tool checked and removed anything in the "URL", signature and "About" locations and remove any entries it finds, especially if the latter two contains URL's in them. Probably could be coded to also check profile posts and mask any URL in then also.

Anyone know if there's a query we can run in the database? Astonishing amount of spam profiles on our forum have a URL in those sections.
