When linking to a resource from within a thread by copying the link to the ressource into the posting this link does not get unfurled but is a text link only.
This makes the link less attractive. Generally XF does unfurl links (interal and external ones), so it is less an XF bug as a RM bug. As in general links are unfurled within XF it makes no sense that those to RM are not.
Affected version: XF 2.2.16 with RM, did not test this on 2.3
There is a bug report from 2022 that annotates the same thing specifically for the autmatically created start postings of discussion therads that belong to ressources.

This may be the case for these automatically created threads (though debatable) but clearly not for links within normal threads and postings.

With unfurl turned on the automatic posts created when adding a new resource or updating a resource do not unfurl the links created within the post. It appears to just bypass the unfurl process.
If those posts are edited by manually removing the links from the urls and resaved the links are unfurled as expected.

The BB code renderer essentially has different modes for different scenarios and the choices here are deliberate. It's deliberately done as it's supposed to have reduced formatting, normal links etc. mostly because it's supposed to be a short snippet.
