XF 1.5 Spam checks on post edits?

We've been hit by some fairly sophisticated spammers who are targeting our site with on-topic posts... then they go back and edit their messages about a month later to insert spam links.

These users have not crossed the "spam check" threshold — typically they have only made one or two posts — and their replacement content is very spammy and would almost certainly get caught by the filter.

Are post edits not checked against the spam filter? Does anyone have advice for combating this type of edit spam?

Don't let new members edit their post that are older than a couple of hours.

Post edits are checked against the spam tools. (There have been bugs in some scenarios where they weren't, so I'd have to recommend making sure you're on the latest version if you're not already.)
