If would be nice if we could allow users to Opt-In for external CAPTCHA-Checks and allow them to Opt-In or Opt-Out from spam checks at registration.

If either CAPTCHA or spam-checks are enabled and the user does not decide to Opt-In (or choses to Opt-Out in case of spam checks) the registration could end up as moderated allowing for manual approval.

Pretty sure the point of spam checks and captchas is to give admins the tool they need to protect their forums - and not let users bypass them at their will.

Agreed, kinda silly. Simply add the relevant info you pass along to your TOS and privacy policy, then when they are to the TOS you are covered.

It's not that easy.

StopForumSpam for example does not participate in Privacy Shield, so there is not really a legal way to use them.

Apart from that, some users simply might not want their personal data being sent to Anti-Spam services so it would be nice to give them a choice to still register.

Anyway, this is just a suggestion and nobody has to support it :)
